Thetford Forest Park

The Priory

This 12th century nunnery is now in a ruined state and has been made famous for the supposed haunting which has seen it featured on television programmes.

Market

The town has a long history as a market town and Tuesday and Saturday are the days in which you can find the modern version of the market, which continues to offer a wide variety of fresh, local produce to visitors and resident alike.

Cultural Centres

The Ancient House shows life in the town through the ages and was once home to the last Maharajah of the Punjab. The Charles Burrell Steam Museum and Dad's Army Museum house more specialist collections but are no less interesting for this Thetford Arts Centre houses various exhibitions and also contains a coffee shop.

Many parts of the ancient town centre are now pedestrianised but it still contains a wonderful mixture of buildings from the different periods in the Thetford's long history.
